I’m bored of mashed potato
What have I done today? I’m in ‘recovery’ mode but I’m more of a do-er so I’m starting to feel like I’m mainly sitting around. I’m sleeping off the anaesthetic, rinsing my mouth with mouthwash so my stitches stay clean, taking painkillers, being brought stuff by Sam. Oh..and eating mashed potato and soup. I can’t open my mouth very wide and can’t chew so my meal options are limited! I just ate a banana by scraping bits off and pushing them through my teeth. I’m worn out now.
I have, however been thoroughly looked after by my wonderful husband, have been visited by friends and family and am surrounded by flowers which make the lounge smell lovely. And I watched all of the Remembrance Sunday service on TV and felt glad to be alive. It’s all about perspective.
Thanks Sam for making sure I’m well looked after, doing so much for me and for making me smile when I’m being miserable (even though it hurts my swollen mouth!). Thanks for saying I’m beautiful even when I looked like a bruised chipmunk! Thanks for reminding me that it’s a good thing that my nasty wisdom teeth are gone.
Here’s to more sitting around and the prospect of a more varied diet soon….

Poor thing! Have you been off of work all week? Do you have to go back tomorrow?
November 13th, 2006 at 2:28 pm
I’ve been off since last wednesday and have patients booked in for Friday so that I can take up to thursday off. I’m still mainly sleeping! The hospital doctor gave me a week off.
I hope you’re doing well Deana and Steve!

Poor dear! Where are your peppermint mocha frappucinos? Clearly Someone has fallen down on the job somewhere along the line if there’re no frappuccinos.

Hey Rachel!
How are you feeling? Thanks for writing. I got the job. Just finalizing the contract. I haven’t given notice to my other company yet … I need to make sure all is completely final first!
How is the house hunting going?

Thanks Niza!
Mel - no frappucino’s in sight I’m afraid! Lots of tea though!
Tina - really glad you got the job! I’m feeling much better today. Not quite up to going back to work but will see the doctor tomorrow to see what he thinks. On the house front - we’ve got a house!! We put in an offer on a house in our area last week. It’s very similar to ours. Our offer was accepted on Thursday and the solicitors are doing their thing. I’m really excited! I drove past it today (My first outing since surgery) and it says “Sold” outside. Now I know it’s real and no one else can have it!

yeah for the house! sam showed it to me the other day! it does look a lot like your house now. pretty cool that I can say that from experience huh?

Next time you come you’ll be staying in our new house! The most exciting thing at the moment is that the house we’re in now, we don’t own the furniture apart from what’s in the lounge - no beds, no dining table or chairs or bedroom furniture - so we have some spending to do! I bought a home magazine today to get some ideas. Sam’s not quite as excited at that bit!

Rachel, I just got your e-mail but hadn’t checked your site yet. I am so excited for you and Sam!!
I love the community garden idea. It sounds so lovely. I wish more people here wanted to live like that. It’s so interesting to watch how shocked new people are when they come to our house and hang around awhile. They start seeing random people just dropping by. No one knocks. It’s just the way we set up our home. People just find that really weird. I personally love it!
I can’t wait for you to post pictures of the house. Have you taken a picture with the SOLD sign on it? I’d love to see it!
Have a great day!
