Staying in our Stately Home
This weekend we celebrated Sam’s Mum’s 60th Birthday by staying at Ickworth Hall with all Sam’s siblings, spouses, neices, nephew and grandparents! Phew! It was the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in formerly owned by the Marquis of Bristol, steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was lovely to celebrate altogether and to be treated to such a great weekend. The hotel had a spa where I had a pedicure. Mmmmm!
We thought we’d share some pictures…
Our room was on the first floor
The view from our window
Cycling round the grounds
Sam’s mum blowing her candles out with a little help from granddaughter Elizabeth
Sam recreating Wimbledon (He won the family tennis tournament!)
A celebratory meal in our private dining room!
A gorgeous weekend

What a fabulous time Rachel! It’s hard for me to believe that people actually occupied that as thier home at one time. I love architecture. Thanks for the tour!

How lovely, Rachel! Oh, look, you’ve got a quilt on your bed. And isn’t Mum tan & glam? Glad you all had a good time.
I’m so looking forward to this whole Strengths Finder thing you and Sam are going to do with me. Thanks so much!

Hey Rach - Ickworth House is about 20 mins from where my parents live! You could have popped in for tea!
I’ve spent loads of time there - guide camps, playing on the adventure playground - I actually once hide in the boot of a car to avoid paying to get in ( although I don’t think I should admit that…!) Glad you had a lovely time, it’s such a beautiful place. Much love xx

Deana, my mum’s birthday was this weekend, but we aren’t actually having the party we’re planning until 30th September.
We’re so excited you guys will be visiting. You’ll be the first people who we’ve met online to actually come and see our house and stay with us. How cool!

it’s a real shame you guys don’t live in a place with a sense of…..
history
haha
amazing, California is like a little babyland compared to your lovely home. Geat pics, great fam - although the flash of white when Sam’s ankles were exposed must’ve been visible for miles

Don’t diss the ankles, Heath!

Any of you are welcome to come and stay and have a historical tour of England! I enjoyed the new-ness of California too. It has a very different history but history all the same!
I wish we were still staying in our Stately Home. At the moment I’m in bed at home being ill and it’s not fun. The views aren’t as good and no one is cooking me 4 course meals!
