You could see it escalating, you could feel the emotions beginning to run higher and higher right through the TV set. It was shocking-- the match, the players, everything. Really though it's the same thing as with a baby sitting job, a youth group, or a camp full of students (and soccer stars really do act like children much of the time don't they?). Firm, fair, and strict when you have to be. That's the only way to play it. Only when everyone is behaving properly can anyone enjoy themselves. And sports are supposed to be fun, aren't they? They ought to have Dame Maggie Smith out there reffing. Lol! Sure, he got some decisions wrong, but I thought both Holland and Portugal were a disgrace. The number of dirty tackles was out of order. They were deliberately seeking to not just foul each other, but hurt each other. They both let down the World Cup in my book with such dirty play. The ref is taking the blame when it's the players who should take the blame. I actually don’t think the ref was that bad.
