The Mosaic begins…
Last night in a pub in the centre of Sheffield different coloured and shaped pieces came together to have a drink and conversation. I wasn’t sure which pieces of humanity would turn up but some did and it was good!
There were 9 of us last night at our first Mosaic Sheffield ‘thing’. That’s more than 3 - hoorah! We had fun chatting and there are more people who want to join us at our house next week and the pub the week after. I love people. Aren’t we all different? I’m looking forward to learning and growing as we shape and are shaped by others. Next week, we start going through ‘Chasing Daylight’ for those who want to come and see what their future could hold…….
Tomorrow night we have a Schindler’s List Barbeque. But that’s another story….!

Schindler’s List Barbeque just means that we’re having a BBQ and then watching Schindler’s List.

How exciting!! You’re in my prayers as you continue to shape great things in Sheffield!
It’s been a while since I’ve seen Schindlers list, but isn’t that an odd combination for a BBQ?

We are very excited for your start.
The greatest advice ever given to me in church planting was the following comment made by my good friend and former pastor:
“We all know that 75% of new church plants fail. Well here is a sure fire way for Mosaic Arlington (or Sheffield) NOT to fail. Love People. Love people period. For Love never fails!”
That was simple and yet it was a great word for our small community as we set sail on the seas of missional church planting. Many nights I have thought about giving up but I can’t. I love too much. I believe you guys also will love so much that everything Mo Shef puts it’s hands to will succeed.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you all!

Nathan - when you get as little sunny weather as we do here, we take every opporunity we can for BBQ’s!

Oh, I’m all for BBQ, but isn’t it seems odd to be paired with a movie like Schindler’s List? Don’t get me wrong, that’s a GREAT story, but I just wouldn’t think to throw such a dense movie in with a BBQ.
I was just curious about the choice of movie.

Ok. The movie idea actually came first as a number of us haven’t seen it and have been talking about watching it for ages. And then, with the hot weather we have at the mo, we tht we’d include food and have a BBQ!

Ok, that makes much more sense. I thought maybe it was a Schindler’s List theme BBQ, in which case, I had no idea what you meant. haha! Have fun with the party
