I’m soooo excited!
Only 3 sleeps til we fly to LA! I love travelling! I love holidays! I even love washing, ironing and packing this week. Cannot wait. I’m really excited to meet people we’ve only met in cyber space, to experience a different culture and climate (really good as we’re living in permanent winter in the UK!). Origins should be fantastic.
All in all…. really excited. Work aren’t really getting their money’s worth this week!
Things to be excited about
1) the aeroplane - I love flying!
2) Being near a beach - don’t see the sea much
3) more sunshine than here (any would be nice!)
4) Meeting new people
5) Meeting people we’ve kind of met already
6) Hotel breakfasts
loads more but running out of time and battery power!

Have you not heard of a plug, honey?

I wish I could be there! But I work for mere beans and it’s not the best use, I guess, of my organization’s money to send the administrative assistant to Mosaic. AA training courses, yes. Leadership training, no. After all, who wants an AA to have a mind of her own? No ideas or opinions necessary, please just do as I ask you faster than is actually possible while I look over your shoulder and micromanage you. And by the way, the copier’s doing that funny thing again. Could you fix it? Or call the copier guy? Great.

Sam - it was all the way downstairs!
Niza - looking forward to meeting you too! Hoping you can recommend good places to see!
Deana - I’m glad I’m not the only big kid around here!
Mel - I think you should tell us more about the secret life of secretaries! I hope you enjoy work and that you feel valued. Just think - Jack did amazing things with his beans and beanstalk!

LOL Thanks, Rachel. In my head I understand that my work is important. But tell that to my wander-lust! I want to travel. Instead I am stuck here.
The good part is, that I know this isn’t forever. I am here to learn as much about the world of faith-based non-profits as I can. Then, in another year or so, I will go get a job for a different one, preferably one located in some other country! For now, this place still has things to teach me.
I hope you have a great time in SoCal!
