Party People

We’ve had a weekend of celebrating. Sam and I went to stay with my parents. Both my brothers were there and it was my brother Russell’s birthday on Sunday. I realised as I thought about celebrations that my family are a celebrating family. Any excuse and we have a celebratory gathering. We’ve got three weekends in a row of celebrating. Russell’s birthday this weekend, a family party to celebrate that my uncle has recovered so well from brain surgery, and then Easter, one of my family’s favourites!

Our family tradition is to lay out the birthday presents of the birthday boy/girl on the sofa in our lounge, covered in balloons, and we all sit in our pyjamas watching the present opening…

Russell opening his presents. He’s my little brother and he’s 22 years old! Aren’t I about 22?! apparently not anymore!

During the day, we went for a walk around the village where I grew up. We went on the walk I used to do when I needed to get out and think and pray.

phew!

I think we should celebrate stuff as much as we can. I’d like my life to be one of celebration. Why not celebrate the little and the big things in life and invite people into it?

What family celebratory traditions do you have?

What do you have worth celebrating?

I think I’m like you! Growing up, nearly every weekend was spent at someone’s house celebrating a family event or holiday! I miss that now living so far away from them.

Life is worth celebrating, Max has taught me that, we celebrate all the small things!
