A Day Out

This weekend my friend Jo and her boyfriend Dan came to stay. Jo and I went to uni together and were housemates in Sheffield. She’s a fantastic friend and we’ve been through lots together. It made me really value friendship. Someone once said that you should stay in contact with people from every stage of your life so that you can share memories. Jo and I shared lots of memories this weekend. We went to our favourite places and visited our old student house. It was great!

Outside our old house - hope the people who live there now didn’t mind!

An afternoon in Castleton - a village in the Peak District near Sheffield.

Anyone got a suitable caption to go with Sam’s facial expression?!

Hangliders - I’d really like to try this sometime! It looked amazing.

On the way to “Peak Cavern” - a massive cavern where you can have candle lit banquets!

We went to the pub on the corner for lunch. You can see the sillouette of the castle ruins on the hill (hence the name of the village)

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend. Anyone done anything?

wow..once again…very nice photos! Sam looks like he wants to punch something in that picture! Either that or he just ate something bad. :)

I went to a Chinese New Year party. One of the lovely things about living near a Research-1 university is the plethora of people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. I learned how to make dumplings from a tiny Chinese woman– one of their traditional New Year’s celebration foods. Then we all went to a big Chinese karaoke competition. Apparently karaoke is big in China. Who knew? It was hilarious: sort of like a cross between The Iron Chef and American Idol. And made all the funnier because I didn’t understand a word!
